Project Care Enough is a parent and community program whereby volunteers care enough to donate one hour of their time each week to assist a student in his/her school studies. The program's goal is to help in meeting our school's mission.
Project Care Enough began in 1993. Over three hundred students have been paired with volunteers. Today the program is still going strong with approximately twenty-five volunteers.
One of the things that enables Project Care Enough to be so successful at Englewood School is its simplicity. At the first of each school term, K-4 teachers recommend students who they believe would benefit from a special volunteer tutor. Parents, grandparents, and community volunteers alike are linked to students. Usually one can find these volunteers throughout the school building reading, assisting, or simply taking an ice cream break with a student.
Care Enough volunteers are a very important part of our school program. Volunteers serve as positive role models, and provide our students with another opportunity to know that someone cares about them.
