Principally Speaking
I am proud to announce that Englewood School met and in many areas exceeded the NCLB's (No Child Left Behind Act) goals. By this measure, we are academically in good shape with no targeted areas. Congratulations! All the hard work and effort by students, teachers, and parents continues to payoff. I am very proud of you.

Today, we begin again working toward the goal of our school's mission statement: "The mission of Englewood School, a community-centered school, is to ensure that students have the foundation necessary to achieve personal success and fulfillment by providing a nurturing, interactive, learning environment." I am assured that by a united effort among administration, faculty, students, and parents/families, we will have continued success.

Again, congratulations to you for meeting the NCLB goal's for the 2006-2007 school term!

Ram Welcome!
A big "Ram Welcome" to Carly Masingale. Ms. Masingale is teaching fifth grade. Her knowledge and skills will be a welcomed addition to our school staff. Ms. Masingale's husband Brent attended Englewood School a few years ago. They have a daughter named Molly.

Jodi Schreck is teaching first grade. Ms. Schreck did an excellent job for us during her first year of teaching. She is up for the challenge of teaching primary grade students, and we know she will do an excellent job.

Connie Shirk joins our staff as a custodian. Ms. Shirk has long-standing ties to Englewood School. Both her daughters went to school here, and you may remember that her husband, Jerry, once drove a bus route for us.

Thirteen New Computer Projectors Purchased with Concession Stand Proceeds
Our school recently purchased and installed thirteen new computer projectors and 100 inch screens with proceeds from concession stand sales at a cost of approximately $14,000. The projectors have been mounted to the classroom ceilings to ensure an optimal learning experience for students. This new multimedia learning tool will allow teachers to better diversify their lessons and add a little spice to student learning.
