Once each year the PTO has a special recognition day for our teachers. We will be honoring them with a breakfast on Tuesday, May 6. This is a great opportunity for everyone to salute our teachers by acknowledging status and support, which are genuinely deserved. Happy Teachers' Day!

Our School Improvement Team (Ms. Bailey and Ms. Dowdy) just completed our 2008-2009 School Improvement Plan. Four goals have been developed and approved by the administration.

• The students will increase the percentage of proficiency in Reading/Language Arts by 5%.
• The students will increase the percentage of proficiency in Math by 5%.
• Subgroups not proficient in Reading/Language Arts and Math will decrease by 10%.
• The students will increase attendance in grades K-8 by 0.5%.

Pre-K and Kindergarten registration will be held on Friday, May 2, from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Parents are asked to bring their child to register for school. Required documents for registration are certified (not mother's copy) birth certificate with number and seal, social security card, and immunization record. A physical is required before school begins in August.
