Principally Speaking - Ms. Darnell, Assistant Principal
Responsible, Achieving, Motivated, Students - R.A.M.S. This is what we strive for at Englewood School! Now with our R.A.M.S. program we are beginning to reap the rewards from all the extra efforts students have been putting forth. The program focuses on improving attendance, behavior, and academics as well as developing positive character traits school wide.
Since the onset of our program, Englewood School has achieved and maintained a top ranking among other county schools each month in attendance. We have also seen a drop in office disciplinary action by 16% from last year. There has been also a 20% reduction in bus referrals. This program rewards children who have good attendance, behavior, and grades. Students earn a card that entitles them to weekly and quarterly rewards such as ballgame passes, extra recess, trips to the Ram's Treasure Chest, and cotton candy. Students who maintain the card they earned for the semester or year receive extra special rewards. We hope as we monitor and adjust for the next school year to see students achieve even higher goals through our R.A.M.S. program. A special thanks to the R.A.M.S. Committee for their help in getting the program started - Ms. Brannon, Ms. Cochran, Ms. Long, Ms. Sharp and Ms. Darnell.

What Makes A Great Science Fair?
If you attended the 6th-8th Grade Science Fair a couple of weeks ago, you already know the answer to this one. What do you have when you combine student participation and discovery, enthusiastic teacher sponsors such as Ms. Myers and Mr. King, a supportive PTO, and a 200 plus parent turnout for the event? You have an outstanding science fair. Congratulations to all participants!
