April Newsletter
Principally Speaking
I want to take this opportunity to acknowledge all the hard work and effort you have put forth so far this year. In the next few days, the state will begin evaluating your school progress by means of the TCAP test. I know you are well prepared to take the test and will do your best. Below are a few tips that will assist in ensuring you will be at your best while taking the test during the week of April 14.
- Get plenty of rest.
- Eat a nutritious breakfast each morning.
- Listen closely to the directions and take care to follow the directions exactly. Ask for explanations if you do not know what to do.
- Do your personal best.
- Stay calm and relaxed
- Good Luck!
Team Englewood - #1 Stock Market Team
The Englewood School Stock Market Team was recently ranked first in our state's stock market competition co-sponsored by the Chattanooga Times and Free Press. Our team was first in the top 100 schools which included such schools as Oak Ridge and Baylor. Team members include Collin McCosh, Dylan Lawson, and Devon Hunt. Mr. King is the team's sponsor.
Michelle Woodruff - Orator Par excellence
Michelle Woodruff is one of the best student public speakers we have had at Englewood School in as many years. Michelle placed first in the 4-H East TN Regional. A few days ago, Michelle won first place in the McMinn County Optimist Club Speech Contest. She will represent our county and school in the state contest this spring. Michelle's winning Optimist Club speech was entitled "Why Not Me?"
